NIA Architects of Chicago, IL were chosen as the lead architect on the ADA renovation of Chicago's historic Nicholas Senn High School. Located on the north side of Chicago in the Edgewater area, Senn HS and was inaugurated in 1913. Some of the school's famous alumni include comedic actor Harvey Korman, M.A.S.H writer/producer Allan Katz, noted producer/writer/actor Harold Ramis, and local sports tv and radio personality Mike North.

 

NIA Architects asked The Spargo Group to assist with the door hardware specifications on the massive renovation project. KR Miller was the chosen as the general contractor in June 2009 and they selected Precision Metals and Hardware to furnish and install all of the replacement doors and Hardware.

 

Precision's team of union carpenters tackled the project with very tight timelines and turned the project over in two months and before school began the first week of September. Precision suppliedDORMA's package of ML9000 Mortise Locks, 8916 Door Closers, and Heavy Duty 9000 series Exit Devices as DORMA's products are strong and durable enough to withstand Chicago high school students and are quick and easy to install. DORMA also could meet the critical delivery times for this summer project.
